House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) revealed on Tuesday that the Republican party is currently undergoing a “course-correction mode” following the removal of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
“We’re currently in a course-correction mode,” Johnson emphasized. “We are anticipating the appointment of a new Secretary of Homeland Security.”
Johnson expressed confidence that Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), Trump’s nominee for DHS chief, would smoothly pass through the confirmation process.
“He is a considerate individual. He will bring a thoughtful approach,” Johnson concluded.
