WASHINGTON, March 13 (Reuters) – A wanted fugitive who was fatally shot by Dallas police earlier this week reportedly worked as part of the security detail for U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett, according to CBS News Texas.
The man, known publicly as Mike King, used aliases while operating a business that provided officers for off-duty jobs. Authorities have not disclosed his real name.
Dallas police SWAT officers shot and killed the fugitive on Wednesday night, as confirmed by police officials.
CBS News Texas revealed that he was wanted for impersonating a law enforcement officer and had posed as one while managing Off Duty Police Services, an online platform connecting North Texas officers with off-duty assignments.
Requests for comments from Crockett’s office and the Dallas Police Department remain unanswered.
CBS News Texas also published images showing King in close proximity to Crockett, a Democrat, at various events and during her recent U.S. Senate campaign.
Additionally, he drove a replica undercover police vehicle and used license plates stolen from cars parked outside a military recruiting office, the report detailed.
