Riley Green continued his performance with minimal interruption after being hit in the head by a fan’s phone, though he did require stitches before his next show.

Green, 37, shared on his Instagram Story on Sunday, March 15, “5 stitches later … sewed up,” alongside a close-up of his right ear, which displayed small stitches near the lobe.

The country singer humorously addressed the incident by posting a photo of a phone tether that attaches to a belt loop, joking, “Passin’ these out at the door tonight.”

Green provided this health update after being struck by a phone during his performance on Saturday, March 14, at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena in Australia.

A video circulating on social media shows Green performing when a phone was hurled from the floor seats, striking the right side of his face and injuring his ear.

The “Worst Way” singer halted the concert, quickly removed his guitar, and approached the front of the stage to identify the person responsible for throwing the phone.

“Can we get the house lights on real quick?” Green requested as the crowd expressed their disapproval of the alleged culprit.

After identifying the individual, Green instructed, “Get your a** out of here. Go on,” which was met with cheers from the audience. (Billboard reported that the offender was escorted out of the venue.)

Returning to his microphone stand, Green noticed blood streaming down his neck from the injury. His team quickly assisted in wiping it off, at which point Green realized the extent of his injury.

Surprised, Green asked, “Am I bleeding?” before lightheartedly telling the audience, “Y’all see how tough I am?” with a wide grin.

Following the show, Green posted a series of photos from the night via Instagram, maintaining his humorous take on the incident.

“Ole buddy bout ran outta anytime minutes last night … but a hell of a time was had,” he wrote, using hashtags to jest about the fan’s actions. “#weouthere #austrailia #melbourne #justtextmenexttime #cashmeoutsidehowboutdat.”

The photos included images of Green receiving treatment for the wound backstage and several shots showing blood on his neck and shirt.

Green also shared similar images through his Instagram Story on Saturday, featuring a close-up of the blood on his face, with Merle Haggard’s “The Fightin’ Side of Me” playing in the background.

Despite the injury, Green expressed excitement for his upcoming performance via his Instagram Story on Monday, March 16.

The musician, who will appear as Garrett, a former Navy SEAL, on Marshals this season, shared a poster for his Sydney, Australia tour date, noting it was sold out.

“Thank you, Sydney,” he wrote, tagging the venue for the show set for Monday evening.
