Jade Cargill has expressed her confidence ahead of her match against Rhea Ripley set for WWE WrestleMania 42. Cargill is set to defend her title against Ripley at the prestigious event next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During an interview on Complex Graps, Jade Cargill shared her thoughts on the WrestleMania bout with Rhea Ripley. She mentioned that Ripley was not her ideal opponent for the event, noting that she would have preferred to face Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania.
Thanks for the submission!
“I actually thought my opponent at Mania would be someone like Charlotte Flair. We’ve been hinting at it for so long, and I believe it’s a match that could generate a lot of interest. She’s a queen, and so am I. I think our similar aesthetics create a ‘who’s the real queen?’ dynamic. Rhea wasn’t the person I initially envisioned for my Mania match this year,” she explained. Rhea Ripley earned her spot as the number one contender for the title by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Meanwhile, Liv Morgan claimed victory at the Women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year, choosing Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer as her opponent.
Jade Cargill praises a past WWE rival
Jade Cargill recently commended Naomi for her performance following their intense WWE rivalry last year.
Naomi was identified as the instigator behind a backstage attack on Cargill in November 2024. Speaking with DC Young Fly on the Atlanta Hawks’ YouTube channel, Cargill, a former AEW star, applauded Naomi, also known as The Glow, for her character portrayal.
“You know, I would say Naomi. We had that match at Evolution [2025] at the State Farm Arena. It was a no bars match [No Holds Barred] where we used trash cans. I even grabbed a camera, hit her in the gut, and put a trash can over her head to knock her down. It was wild. Naomi’s character work is exceptionally good,” Cargill remarked.
As WrestleMania 42 approaches, only time will reveal whether Jade Cargill or Rhea Ripley will emerge as the reigning WWE Women’s Champion.
