A man has been charged following an assault in Canterbury on Thursday night that left another individual critically injured.
Police responded to a call around 10.25pm regarding a serious assault at a property on Racecourse Rd in Amberley, Hurunui.
According to police, “The victim was transported to hospital with critical injuries and is currently undergoing surgery,” as reported yesterday morning.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Vaughan provided an update today, confirming that a man has been charged in connection with the incident.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to appear in Christchurch District Court on March 26, facing a charge of wounding with intent.
