Chaotic scenes unfolded as hundreds of spring breakers took over a Wisconsin mall, leading to the arrest of at least 13 individuals amid numerous altercations.
On Sunday, Bayshore mall in Glendale witnessed a large group of masked and hooded teenagers causing havoc. This takeover was encouraged on social media, in direct violation of the mall’s policy against unaccompanied minors.
The Instagram account teen takovversss posted, “Come guys it’ll be fun,” encouraging the gathering.
Footage captured teens exchanging aimless punches in the mall’s parking area, with spectators encouraging the fights.
In one video shared on Facebook, a witness can be heard shouting, “Get her! Hit her!”
Girls were seen pulling hair and engaging in physical altercations, which some online users described as “so embarrassing.”
Other footage showed young men fleeing as police arrived to restore order.
According to WTMJ-TV, police and mall security spent hours dispersing the unruly crowd.
Arrests were made on charges including disorderly conduct, battery, and resisting arrest, as per a Glendale police spokesperson.
A spokesperson for the mall confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Before this incident, Bayshore management had warned teens about the mall’s policy prohibiting individuals under 18 from shopping alone without an adult after 3 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Adults over 21 are permitted to supervise groups of four under-18s.
These teen takeovers have been widely shared on social media during spring break, leading law enforcement across the US to remain vigilant.
Last week, unruly teens caused disturbances in downtown Chicago, prompting officials to implement an emergency curfew.
