The status of Chris Jericho in AEW remains a hot topic in the professional wrestling community. Amid ongoing speculation about the veteran wrestler’s future, Jericho recently took to social media to reveal a significant non-wrestling event he will participate in before WrestleMania 42.
Chris Jericho has been absent from AEW’s programming since he parted ways with his former allies, Big Bill and Bryan Keith, in April following the events of Dynasty 2025. Despite fan expectations that he would return to WWE after his contract ended, Jericho has not yet made a comeback, even though several major WWE events, including the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, have already taken place this year.
Adding to the speculation, Jericho has shared numerous throwback posts on social media about his time in the Stamford-based company. During his time away from AEW, he has been involved in various non-wrestling activities. Recently, on his Instagram story, Jericho announced that he will perform a tribute show to KISS with his band, Kuarantine, on April 4 at Rascals, a bar and live venue in Worcester, MA.
This event will take place just a couple of weeks before WrestleMania 42.
Chris Jericho’s AEW Status
Initially, it was thought that Chris Jericho’s AEW contract would conclude at the end of 2025. However, by early 2026, it was observed that The Learning Tree still appeared on AEW’s official roster. Further reports indicated that his contract was “frozen” by Tony Khan’s promotion when his hiatus began last year.
Recent updates suggest that AEW has extended Jericho’s contract by adding the time he missed from programming to his current deal.
