Recent revelations have surfaced following the arrest of Jenna Strouble, indicating she gave the father of her children a massage before fatally shooting him, his mother, and his stepfather.
A court hearing initially set for Monday, March 30, has been postponed to Tuesday, March 31, as reported by CBS News. Prosecutors have requested that she remain in custody until her trial, although a judge will ultimately decide at the rescheduled hearing.
On March 30, prosecutors revealed that Strouble gave Jacob Lambert a massage before allegedly killing him. She is also accused of subsequently driving to his parents’ home and killing them.
Authorities were alerted to Strouble’s residence after her sister called 911, stating that Strouble confessed to shooting three individuals, according to the Will County State’s Attorney’s office.
While in custody, Strouble informed investigators that she invited Lambert to hang out and take a drive. She picked him up around 11 p.m., and they went to the closed Plum Creek Nature Preserve.
Strouble admitted to investigators that communication issues with Lambert led her to suggest the drive as a pretext to harm him.
According to prosecutors, Strouble pulled over and offered Lambert a back massage. She brought a massage gun because Lambert had complained about back pain and her perceived lack of effort toward him.
Strouble instructed Lambert to recline his seat, remove his shirt and hat, and lie on his abdomen. She then straddled him and provided a 20-minute massage, prosecutors stated.
During the massage, Strouble retrieved a Glock pistol from under the passenger seat. Prosecutors allege she held the gun to Lambert’s head for about eight minutes while continuing the massage, eventually shooting him in the back of the head.
After the shooting, Strouble reportedly smoked a cigarette before driving to Lambert’s parents’ residence. Upon arrival, she smoked another cigarette and attempted to enter the house using Lambert’s keys.
When Lambert’s stepfather, Pat Forde, answered the door, Strouble allegedly began shooting immediately. Lambert’s mother, Stacy Forde, came downstairs after hearing her husband scream, and Strouble reportedly shot her as well.
Strouble did not offer a clear motive for the killings beyond expressing general dislike for Lambert and his parents, according to prosecutors.
