Cardi B‘s estranged husband, Offset, was reportedly socializing with fans shortly before being shot near a casino in Florida.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was photographed smiling with fans and walking through the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Monday, April 6. Images obtained by TMZ show the 34-year-old appearing “relaxed and friendly” as he interacted with fans around 7 p.m. ET, with no indication of any impending issues.
The photos were reportedly taken moments before Offset was shot near the casino’s valet area and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
A representative for Offset confirmed to Complex that he is recuperating after the incident.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” the spokesperson stated. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
The Seminole, Florida, police have not released detailed information about the events leading up to the shooting but informed Page Six that two individuals have been detained as part of the investigation.
“We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood,” a police representative said on Monday. “Seminole Police were on site immediately, and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The site is secure, and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”

This unsettling incident took place just over three years after the death of Offset’s former Migos bandmate Takeoff, who was killed at the age of 28 in a Houston, Texas, shooting in November 2022. Reports suggest that Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was an unintended victim caught in the crossfire at a high-stakes dice game attended with his bandmate and uncle, Quavo.

More than 20,000 attendees, including Cardi B, Justin Bieber, and Drake, gathered at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in November 2022 to honor Takeoff’s life. Following Takeoff’s murder, Offset confirmed that the group Migos would be disbanding.
In May 2023, Offset revealed to Variety that he was still grappling with the loss of his bandmate.
“Talking about all this s*** is hard. That’s why I don’t, to be honest,” he admitted. “That s*** hurts. Like, it’s gonna put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood. Some things I don’t never tell nobody.”
He continued, “[Takeoff is] not here. That s*** feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t say nothing to nobody about it.”

Offset is a father of six. He shares three children—daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, son Wave Set Cephus, and daughter Blossom Belle Cephus—with his estranged wife Cardi. He also has three more children—sons Jordan Cephus and Kody Cephus, and daughter Kalea Marie Cephus—from previous relationships. (Cardi welcomed a son with Stefon Diggs in November 2025.)
The “Bad and Boujee” artist married Cardi in Atlanta in September 2017. Cardi announced their separation in December 2023 and filed for divorce the following July.
