The allegations leveled against Rep. Eric Swalwell are extensive, involving multiple women and spanning several years. While not all accusations are anonymous, some have been corroborated by media reports.
A former staffer of Rep. Eric Swalwell, a prominent Democratic candidate for California governor, has accused him of raping her while she was heavily intoxicated, leaving her bruised and bleeding. Swalwell denies these claims.
…
The staffer stated that this was the second instance of nonconsensual sexual contact with Swalwell while she was drunk. In 2019, she recounted waking up naked with him in a hotel room after a night of heavy drinking, with no memory of the events but physical evidence of sexual contact.
Additionally, three other women have accused the congressman of various forms of sexual misconduct, including sending unsolicited explicit messages or nude photos.
Rep. Swalwell released a video on Friday night refuting all allegations, though he acknowledged not being perfect and making mistakes.

MS NOW has independently verified some of the allegations, and one woman explained her decision to come forward, saying, “One more thing I wanna read that the woman told me last night, I really felt the responsibility to, to protect younger staffers because no one protected me and I really didn’t want to go on knowing this information, wondering of another person could be hurt by him.”

Eric Swalwell’s focus seems to be on himself and his campaign, but this issue concerns women, power abuse, and the ideals Democrats and the nation aspire to uphold.
