On Saturday, Jack Whitehall took the stage as the host of “SNL U.K.,” dedicating much of his monologue to humorous remarks about his upcoming wedding scheduled for next week.
The British comedian and actor, who recently appeared in the Peacock comedy-drama “The ‘Burbs,” mentioned that the expenses for his wedding to model Roxy Horner were spiraling out of control.
“We’ve got flowers, canapes, the band, and to top it off, Scott Mills as the DJ,” he joked. “I’m never getting that deposit back.”
Scott Mills, a well-known BBC DJ, was terminated earlier this month following allegations concerning his personal conduct. It was later disclosed that the Metropolitan Police had interviewed him in 2018 about allegations of a sexual offense involving a teenage boy.
Whitehall also quipped about Prince Andrew, joking that organizing his wedding felt akin to planning a royal wedding, particularly as “the whole thing could be ruined if my uncle turns up.”
Shifting the focus to the Middle East, he humorously noted that he had secured a bargain for the honeymoon: “two weeks narrow boating down the Straits of Hormuz, with a free fireworks display every night.”
Concluding his monologue, Whitehall remarked that while he was hosting “SNL U.K.,” his fiancée was enjoying her hen party. “Here I am cracking jokes with you, while she’s in Soho getting dry humped by one of Magic Mike,” he jested.
Whitehall is the fourth host for “SNL U.K.” and the last before the show goes on a week-long break, resuming on April 25.
