Lashana Lynch, known for her recent stunt-heavy roles in “The Woman King” and “No Time to Die,” was ready for a change of pace. After the physically demanding stunts in “The Woman King,” Lynch was hesitant to jump into another action-packed project right away. However, when she was offered a role in the crime caper “The Day of the Jackal,” she was intrigued.

Initially cautious about taking on a new project so soon after the massive success of “No Time to Die,” Lynch eventually found herself drawn into the gripping storyline of “The Day of the Jackal.” In the series, she plays Bianca, a detective on the trail of an enigmatic assassin known as the Jackal, portrayed by Eddie Redmayne. Lynch was particularly interested in exploring the complexities of women in service roles and how they navigate various aspects of their lives.

While “The Day of the Jackal” features its fair share of action sequences, Lynch made the decision not to perform her own stunts this time around. Instead, she focused on her acting and producing roles, bringing a fresh perspective to the project. As an executive producer alongside Redmayne, Lynch was actively involved in shaping the series, from scene selection to post-production considerations.

One of Lynch’s primary goals for the series was to keep it grounded and realistic. She wanted to avoid glorifying violence or portraying unrealistic chase scenes, striving for authenticity in every moment. Despite stepping back from stunt work, Lynch remains open to the possibility of reprising her role as Nomi in the Bond franchise. However, she admits that she has not received any updates from Bond producers Eon regarding the next installment.

As she navigates the uncertainty of her future in the Bond franchise, Lynch remains focused on the present, pouring her energy into projects like “The Day of the Jackal.” With a passion for storytelling and a commitment to authenticity, Lynch continues to captivate audiences with her versatile talents on screen.
