Rebecca first noticed symptoms such as numbness in her foot and hand tremors in 2012. It wasn’t until three years later that she received an official diagnosis.
In an interview with People, Terry’s wife recounted her initial experience with numbness in her left toes while cycling.
“I assumed it was due to stress from everything we were facing,” she explained, alluding to the difficult period in their marriage following Terry’s confession of infidelity and addiction to p———-.
In the subsequent months, she experienced further symptoms, including leg dragging, memory issues, and stiffness in her left arm.
“One morning I woke up with a tremor and thought, ‘Hmmm, I know what that means,'” she added.
Terry and Rebecca endured years of uncertainty before a neurologist at USC provided a diagnosis in 2015. As her symptoms worsened, she began taking medication, which also brought about side effects.
“Witnessing her journey over the past 10 to 12 years has been incredibly challenging,” Terry shared on Today. “The tremors, sleepless nights, and balance loss have been tough to watch. Seeing her write her name for the first time in three years was overwhelming – I get choked up just thinking about it because she is the cornerstone of our lives.”
