Shortly after, the images were removed for “further review,” with assurances they would be published later. The photos expose a scene of chaos and bloodshed, revealing the extent of the horror.
One particularly disturbing image shows bloodstains splattered on a nightstand. Another depicts a floor covered with clothing, crimson-streaked napkins, and a lone white shoe.
A third chilling photo reveals bedsheets stained red, bearing witness to Kohberger’s early morning attack.
The doctoral candidate from Washington State University traveled from nearby Pullman, Washington, gaining entry to the residence through an unlocked back door. He then brutally attacked four of the six occupants as they were eating and sleeping.
The victims were Xana Kernodle, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, and Ethan Chapin, 20.
“These images convey a story of madness and violence, suggesting an almost insatiable bloodlust,” commented a law enforcement officer who reviewed the photos. “These young people stood no chance.”
