A Florida man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a woman in the neck and dragging her back into her house, authorities reported.
The Wildwood Police Department responded to an incident around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday following reports of an argument and a subsequent gunshot, as noted in an arrest report referenced by WKMG.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman with a gunshot wound to the neck, lying in a driveway.
She was transported by air to a hospital due to the severity of her injuries.
Robert Anthony Morgan, 40, was taken into custody and faced charges including attempted felony murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and discharging a firearm in a public place or on residential property.
Police observed Morgan crawling under a partially open garage door and then jumping into a backyard pool.
Officers removed him from the pool and arrested him.

The victim’s mother informed investigators about a history of domestic violence involving Morgan and the victim. She reportedly witnessed Morgan dragging the woman back onto the property after the shooting, as mentioned by WKMG.
When she inquired if Morgan had sought help, he allegedly responded, “She’s fine,” and threatened to shoot her if she contacted the authorities.
Authorities found a rifle on the garage floor and traces of blood on the street leading to the residence, as reported by WESH.
The woman’s four children were present inside the house during the incident, according to reports.
Morgan, who has a previous felony battery conviction, appeared in court on Monday and is being held without bond.
