A significant portion of the American public, often ranging between 65% and 80% in polls, holds Donald Trump responsible for the country’s economic difficulties and other issues. However, the administration persistently attributes these problems to Joe Biden, despite him not being in office for nearly 18 months.

Spirit Airlines has faced challenges for years, similar to other airlines currently experiencing difficulties. It is essential to consider the state of Spirit Airlines before the Iran War to understand its predicament. As a budget airline struggling to survive before Trump’s return to office, it was severely impacted by the economic downturn attributed to Trump’s policies.

While many see this as a straightforward explanation for Spirit’s troubles, the Trump administration offers a different narrative. During a press conference on Saturday, Transportation official Sean Duffy provided an unusual rationale for the administration’s failure to reach a deal to rescue Spirit Airlines. He stated, “Again, they have the final say of whether they want to do a deal with the government. But also from the government’s perspective, we oftentimes don’t have a half a billion dollars laying around in a spare account that we can put into a bailout of an airline. So, there was creative thinking on how it could happen. Those two things never materialized.”

Despite the administration’s readiness to allocate funds to bail out foreign governments allied with Trump, it has failed to secure a deal that could save 17,000 jobs at Spirit Airlines. Duffy pinpointed Joe Biden as the one responsible for this job loss.
