The upcoming third season of High Potential will have a fresh look, as changes have been made behind the scenes.
According to multiple sources, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman are set to take the helm as co-showrunners and executive producers under their comprehensive agreement with 20th Television, the production company behind High Potential.
In a statement released on Wednesday, May 6, the Zuckermans expressed their excitement: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Craig, Karey, Simran, and our partners at 20th and ABC as we embark on this new chapter of High Potential. It’s a dream come true to work alongside Drew, Sarah, and Andrea at Goddard Textiles, and the exceptional Kaitlin Olson.”
They added, “We’re eager to delve into Morgan Gillory’s brilliant and dynamic mind, creating complex mysteries that match her intellect.”
Prior to their involvement with High Potential, the Zuckermans were showrunners for the acclaimed Peacock series Poker Face. They have also contributed as writers to series like Suits, Agents of SHIELD, Prodigal Son, and Fringe, and are currently working on the Scream 8 script. The Zuckermans were initially linked to Hulu’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer project, which ultimately did not proceed.
The Zuckermans are stepping in following Todd Harthan’s departure at the end of the second season. In March, it was revealed that Harthan left to pursue the live-action adaptation of Christopher Paolini’s young adult book series The Inheritance Cycle, titled Eragon. This adaptation is co-created with Paolini, and Harthan will co-showrun alongside Todd Helbing.
High Potential, which made its debut in September 2024, was created by Drew Goddard. He also penned the pilot and was slated to executive produce alongside Sarah Esberg, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, Pierre Laugier, Anthony Lancret, Jean Nainchrik, and Alethea Jones.
Initially, Rob Thomas was expected to be the showrunner, but he left in June 2024, months before the series aired. Todd Harthan was then announced as the new showrunner and also served as an executive producer.
This police procedural revolves around Morgan (played by Kaitlin Olson), a highly intelligent individual who teams up with the LAPD to solve murders. Her partner, Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), is initially doubtful of her involvement but soon grows to depend on her expertise.

The storyline in Season 2 revealed that Morgan’s former partner, Roman, was alive after being missing for over a decade. The only clue provided was that Roman had been working as an FBI informant and was distrustful of the LAPD.
Todd Harthan gave an exclusive hint to Us Weekly in January: “It’s going to be a turbulent journey. We’ll start exploring intense aspects of Morgan’s life, especially concerning Roman. There will be numerous challenges at home with the kids.” He added, “It’s bound to get chaotic and intricate—hopefully in ways that keep the audience captivated.”
He concluded, “As we move into the latter half of the second season, our focus is to address major gaps and develop the relationships. Expect significant developments between Steve Howey’s character and Captain Wagner, leading to interesting dynamics and complications. Our aim is to keep viewers intrigued and guessing.”
High Potential is currently available for streaming on Hulu.
