“NCIS: New York,” the latest addition to the CBS franchise, has expanded its cast with four new members.
Variety reports that Jennifer Beals (“The L Word,” “Devil in a Blue Dress”), Jacqueline Byers (“Salvation,” “Dark Winds”), Shane Harper (“Good Luck Charlie,” “Power Book IV: Force”), and Devin Druid (“13 Reasons Why,” “Olive Kitteridge”) have been confirmed as series regulars. They join previously announced leads LL Cool J and Scott Caan.
LL Cool J will return as NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna, a role he portrayed for 14 seasons on “NCIS: Los Angeles.” The show’s synopsis reveals:
“Legendary NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) returns to his hometown of New York City to the NCIS field office, partnering with a roguish agent (Caan) and helping lead a new team as they are tasked with high-stakes missions to defend one of the most vital cities and ports in the world.”
Beals will portray Assistant Special Agent in Charge Robyn Wells, described as “the director of the NCIS New York field office who leads with her intuition and is widely respected by her team.” Byers takes on the role of NCIS Special Agent Addison “Addy” Ross, characterized as “a rock-solid, tough and resourceful agent with something to prove.”
Harper will play NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill, “who is fearless, sharp, highly skilled in the field and a hopeless romantic.” Druid will appear as NCIS Tech Specialist Sean Sullivan, “who is witty and brilliant but resistant to authority.”
Beals is represented by CAA, Constellation Media Group, and Felker McGinnis & Ryan. Byers is represented by Stand Entertainment, CESD Talent Agency, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Harper is represented by Gersh, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Druid is represented by Untitled Entertainment and Gang Tyre.
The pilot for “NCIS: New York” was penned by R. Scott Gemmill, who contributed to all 14 seasons of “NCIS: Los Angeles” and served as showrunner for seven seasons; he currently writes and creates “The Pitt” on HBO Max. Byron Balasco, who was a writer-producer on CBS’ “Without a Trace” and created the series “Kingdom” for Audience Network, will be the showrunner for “NCIS: New York.”
Gemmill and Balasco are both executive producers, alongside Adam Davidson, Kyle Harimoto, Joe Wilson, LL Cool J, and Jason Barrett. CBS Studios produces the series, with distribution by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
The original “NCIS” series remains a staple of the CBS lineup, set to launch its 24th season on Tuesdays this fall, while the prequel “NCIS: Origins” will begin its third season. In addition to these, CBS also airs “NCIS: Sydney,” with previous franchise entries including “NCIS: New Orleans,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: Hawaiʻi,” and “NCIS: Tony & Ziva.”
