NBC has revealed its lineup for the 2026-2027 fall broadcast season, featuring the new broadcast edition of “The Traitors.”

The network’s version of the popular competition series will include non-celebrity participants, with Emmy-winning host Alan Cumming leading the Faithful as they attempt to unmask the Traitors to win the $250,000 prize. The show is scheduled to air on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT, preceding “Law & Order: SVU” and followed by “Law & Order” at 10 p.m.

“The Hunting Party,” which aired last fall following the “Law & Order” block, is still awaiting a decision regarding its third season, making it the sole NBC primetime scripted series without a confirmed renewal or cancellation.

Recently renewed for its 26th season, “Law & Order” was reportedly at risk of not returning in the fall. However, Lisa Katz, NBC & Peacock’s president of scripted content, dismissed this notion, stating that the situation was inaccurately portrayed as being on the bubble. She explained that they were simply evaluating different time slots and opportunities, and it was more about scheduling logistics.

The “One Chicago” block will remain on Wednesday evenings, beginning with “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m., followed by “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD.”

NBC is also introducing two new dramas and two new comedies. The new drama “Line of Fire,” starring Peter Krause and Hope Davis, centers on a law enforcement family caught in a deadly conspiracy. It will premiere on Mondays at 10 p.m. in September, following a two-hour episode of “The Voice,” which will see the return of coach Kelly Clarkson. In October and November, “Line of Fire” will continue to air at 10 p.m. after a one-hour episode of “The Voice,” with “St. Denis Medical” airing at 8 p.m. The second season of “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” will move to the fall, airing at 8:30 p.m. on Mondays.

The freshman comedy “Newlyweds,” starring real-life couple Téa Leoni and Tim Daly, with Jamie Lee Curtis as executive producer, will be broadcast on Fridays at 8:30 p.m., following new episodes of “Happy’s Place.”

Two additional new shows, a reboot of “The Rockford Files” starring David Boreanaz and the comedy “Sunset PI” from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” creators Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, featuring Jake Johnson, will debut midseason. “Rockford Files” is expected in January, while “Sunset PI” will follow in February.

Both “Rockford” and “Sunset PI” have generated significant interest since their pilot announcements at NBC.

Explaining the decision to hold both shows for midseason, NBC’s president of program planning strategy stated it was largely due to the time slots they are targeting. “Traitors” will air Thursday at 8 p.m., and they believe this is also a strong time for “Rockford.” The midseason time slot allows “Reggie Dinkins” to complete its run before “Sunset PI” is introduced. Katz added that “Rockford” is ideally suited for the 8 p.m. slot, which was unavailable in the fall, providing an opportunity to capture the best audience.

NBC has also confirmed a game show adaptation of “Wordle,” hosted by “Today’s” Savannah Guthrie, which was first reported in October 2025. Guthrie confirmed the series pickup on “Today.” Returning unscripted series for the summer include “America’s Got Talent,” “American Ninja Warrior,” and “Password.” The previously announced “Destination X” will return in 2027.

NBC will air the 78th Emmy Awards on September 14 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

In sports, NBC will continue its NFL “Sunday Night Football” coverage, along with NBA regular season games starting in October. “Sunday Night Basketball” will begin mid-winter, with the NBA playoffs and “Sunday Night Baseball” airing in the spring. NBC also remains the home for college football like the Big Ten Conference, WNBA regular season and playoff games, and the MLB postseason wild card playoffs.

A three-hour special commemorating NBC’s 100th anniversary is being prepared for December 10, originating from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with more details to be announced.

Other planned specials include “The Americas: A Wild 250th,” marking the 250th anniversary of the United States’ founding. The special will highlight “iconic American species” whose historical connection to the land has left a lasting impact, featuring animals like the bald eagle, bison, and sea lions, each embodying a courageous American spirit.

In 2027, NBC will also air “The Americas: Mother’s Day.” This special will explore the resilience and ingenuity of animal motherhood across sweeping American landscapes, offering a fresh perspective on familiar narratives and emphasizing that nurturing the next generation is the greatest adventure.

Both of the “The Americas” specials are executive produced by Mike Gunton and Holly Spearing for BBC Studios Natural History Unit, in collaboration with Universal Television Alternative Studio.
