Petchtanong Petchfergus of Thailand, a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, secured a unanimous decision victory over Ben “The Problem” Woolliss at ONE Fight Night 43.
The 40-year-old delivered a rebound performance, yet he left Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium on May 15 feeling dissatisfied.
A perfectionist by nature, Petchtanong felt he didn’t showcase his full potential and considered himself somewhat fortunate to have the decision in his favor.
Throughout the match, Petchtanong maintained control by utilizing sharp left punches and strong low kicks, characteristic of his muay femur style, honed over more than 400 fights.

Nevertheless, Petchtanong expressed concerns about his speed and reflexes not meeting his expectations.
“Well, not at all. It wasn’t according to the game plan that we had set,” he told ONE Championship in his post-event interview. “I feel like my recovery wasn’t good enough after the weigh-in, which made my power not really come back and also my speed wasn’t really there.”
Despite these concerns, Petchtanong managed to derail Woolliss’ momentum and extend his career record to an impressive 360-57.
Petchtanong Reflects on His Performance
Petchtanong Petchfergus expressed that his match against Ben Woolliss was closer than he intended it to be.
While he put in maximum effort during training, he acknowledged that pre-match conditions hindered his recovery. Affiliated with Superbon Training Camp, he persevered to secure a victory over a rising opponent.
Yet, as someone who holds high standards for himself, he found this insufficient.
“Well, I’m happy that I got the victory, but I wasn’t impressed with my own performance. Today, I felt like I was a bit too slow,” Petchtanong told ONE in the same interview.
ONE Fight Night 43 is available on demand for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
