On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the President enacted the following laws:

H.R. 972, known as the “Sloan Canyon Conservation and Lateral Pipeline Act,” extends the boundaries of the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area located in Clark County, Nevada. This legislation mandates the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management to grant rights-of-way to the Southern Nevada Water Authority. This will facilitate the construction of a water transmission pipeline and associated infrastructure to serve the Las Vegas Valley.

H.R. 2066, titled the “Investing in All of America Act of 2025,” revises the maximum leverage amount available to a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC). It further exempts from the leverage cap calculation, the investments an SBIC makes in small businesses situated in low-income or rural areas, small manufacturers, and those focused on critical technology.

H.R. 2815, the “Cape Fox Land Entitlement Finalization Act of 2025,” eliminates the requirement under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act for the Cape Fox Village Corporation to receive certain federal lands for settlement. It also authorizes the Corporation to choose other lands that were previously identified.
