Democrats Pounce As Senate Republicans Melt Down

The Senate Republican majority is experiencing significant turmoil due to attempts by Donald Trump to utilize a DOJ settlement fund as a slush fund for his associates. Within a short span, Senate Republicans have declared their intention to eliminate the taxpayer funding for Trump’s ballroom from the reconciliation bill.

Senate Republicans have subsequently confronted acting Attorney General Todd Blanche regarding Trump’s controversial slush fund. This fund has led to such discord and confusion that the bill intended to fund ICE and border patrol has been delayed until June.

The Republican Party is actively seeking strategies to halt Trump’s slush fund, which is contributing to their internal disarray.

Andrew Desiderio of Punchbowl News shared on X:

Message from a GOP senator: “Our majority is melting down before our eyes.” Many Republicans believe Trump has instigated this situation himself, driven by a self-serving desire to expel those not deemed sufficiently loyal.

Trump’s actions have fractured the Senate Republican majority, and the Democrats are poised to capitalize on this opportunity.
