During the World Health Assembly week, an installation was unveiled featuring 50 illuminated lightboxes. These lightboxes displayed lock-screen photographs of children who lost their lives due to online violence or digital harm.
Meghan Markle attended the event without her husband, Prince Harry, 41, who has also been an advocate against the dangers of social media for young people.
Notable attendees included WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, various ministers, health officials, and families directly affected by online abuse.
According to a source familiar with the event’s reaction, the low turnout became a significant topic of conversation.
The source stated, “There was surprise among some observers because Meghan remains one of the most internationally recognized women in the world, yet the atmosphere around the event felt surprisingly subdued. A lot of people expected a much larger public response given the amount of media attention that usually follows her.”
