Even if your city isn’t hosting a World Cup match, you might still have the chance to see a team in action this summer.
In the U.S., more than 20 cities across 19 states will become training sites for national teams during the tournament. This number does not include the 11 U.S. cities where games will occur. Of the 48 competing teams, 39 will set up their base camps in the U.S.
According to FIFA, these base camps are expected to generate revenue and offer fans another way to engage with the event.
The upcoming World Cup, hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, is set to be the largest in history, with more teams and matches across a greater number of cities. The tournament will kick off on June 11 and conclude on July 19. Notably, it’s the first World Cup held in the U.S. since 1994.
