Ronda Rousey, a seasoned WWE figure, has played a significant role in the wrestling world. After stepping away from the industry following her WWE career, she made a return this year at the Revolution event. Rousey was there to support her close friend, Marina Shafir, and confronted Toni Storm after their match. Her debut in All Elite Wrestling captured widespread attention from the wrestling community.
Recently, Rousey, who once held the WWE RAW Women’s Champion title, achieved a rapid victory over Gina Carano, winning in just seconds during a highly anticipated Netflix fight. After this remarkable feat, she announced her retirement from the sport. Fans are speculating about the possibility of her returning for a brief stint at the Jacksonville-based promotion.
On the Up & Adams Show, Rousey addressed these speculations, stating that she does not plan to join AEW due to the time commitment involved. She explained that her AEW appearance was mainly to support Marina Shafir, her best friend.
“No. That life of being on the road is probably more time-consuming than doing training camp at home. I had a great time but it just happened to be in town and my best friend was there,” she said. [H/T – Fightful]
Nikki Bella Reacts to Ronda Rousey’s Swift Victory
Ronda Rousey’s 17-second triumph caught global attention, leaving many astonished by the fight’s outcome.
During an interview on USA Today Sports, WWE star Nikki Bella expressed her desire to see more of Rousey after this recent match.
“I think, you know, my initial response was like, wait, it’s done. But the one thing I will say is it left me wanting a lot more from Ronda. She looked incredible. I mean, she looked so amazing that I want to see her now on more fights. You know, I’m all about nostalgia. So no matter what it was, I love that those two women got into that octagon and did what they did,” she said.
It remains to be seen if Rousey will make further appearances in AEW.
