Trump Is Being Erased As The Kennedy Center Begins To Remove His Name

Donald Trump is facing a setback in his attempt to alter historical narratives, as the Kennedy Center has started the process of removing his name and references to the current president from the monument dedicated to John F. Kennedy.

For those who need a refresher on the situation: After Donald Trump resumed his presidency, he took over the Kennedy Center board, placing himself at the helm.

He then orchestrated a board vote to rename the center to include both his and President Kennedy’s names.

This move was deemed illegal because the center’s naming is governed by legislative action, and only Congress holds the power to rename or alter the Kennedy Center.

The administration and Trump faced a lawsuit, and a judge ordered the removal of Trump’s name and the cancellation of Trump’s proposed remodeling closure for the center.

Although it was uncertain if the Trump administration, which often views legal compliance as optional, would adhere to the ruling, Thursday marked the initial indication that Trump’s name would be taken off the building.
