Trump also received a settlement from another questionable defamation lawsuit against 60 Minutes. This settlement appeared to facilitate the sale of CBS to David Ellison, an ally of Trump, who subsequently took control of the network, dismissed late-night host Stephen Colbert, and made significant changes to 60 Minutes.
Displeased with a BBC documentary’s portrayal of his actions following the 2020 election, Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the BBC.
This time, the media outlet is resisting.
The lawsuit against the BBC has progressed to the discovery phase, during which Trump’s legal team has requested numerous documents. In response, the BBC has provided tens of thousands of documents.
In a move different from Trump’s previous targets, the BBC has also requested documents from Trump, a strategy that has seemingly halted Trump’s efforts.
