Following her recent collaboration with Baggu, Sandy Liang has unveiled her resort collection, which promises to be an exciting addition when it is released later this year.
A highlight of the collection includes revamped versions of her popular satin jacket-and-skirt sets, offered in two lively new colors: baby blue satin and a glossy brown. “I love the pre-season collections because they’re more like…I don’t have to think about what things will look like on a runway,” Liang explained. “I just think about what I would want to wear.” The collection also features playful new long johns in vibrant prints and colors, designed to be mixed and matched with the collection’s breezy skirts or with existing pieces in fans’ wardrobes. Hair barrettes, which align with Liang’s boldly feminine style, are also expanded this season.
Fans of Liang will recall that outerwear was a key factor in establishing her brand, notably the printed fleeces. While last season emphasized cute pieces for pairing with evening dresses, this season shifts focus to sporty anoraks and robust parkas, adding to her existing selection of shearlings and coats. The parkas make a strong impression, available in midnight navy and a flirtatious pink with a charming bow detail on the back. In the lookbook, Liang pairs them with her short dresses, demonstrating their versatility. Who says an investment piece has to be dull?
