In a tragic incident, a boyfriend abducted his girlfriend and her supportive friend, leading to a murder-suicide after a police pursuit, authorities report.
Jedance Hale, 18, had taken her friend Lila Asher, a 19-year-old new mother, for support on Saturday to end her relationship with James Priddy, 21, in Kentucky, as per their families.
Hale’s distraught mother, in a 911 call, informed the police that her daughter was being held in a car, according to audio obtained by WKYT.
“She tells me that they got proof that this female has been trying to leave him all day. Trying to get her,” she said, according to the recording.
Authorities located Priddy’s red Chevy Cobalt and pursued him for 30 minutes as he refused to stop, culminating in a crash with another vehicle as police attempted to corner him.

Upon reaching the scene, police discovered all three individuals deceased inside the vehicle from gunshot wounds.
“All indications are that apparently James Priddy shot and killed Hale and Asher, then killed himself,” the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Asher had recently become a mother to a baby girl, as revealed by her social media.
“They were two innocent girls. One was a mom to a baby girl and it’s just shocking to everybody,” expressed Mackenize Watts, a friend of both victims, to Lex 18.
A fundraising initiative noted that the deaths of these friends “has left their families and friends in shock, struggling to find the words and strength to move forward.”
“Lila and Jedance shared a deep bond, always wanting to be together, and their loved ones are determined to honor that wish by holding their funerals side by side,” stated the fundraiser, which had gathered over $5,000 by early Wednesday.
In a surprising move, Priddy’s mother also started a fundraiser for her son, describing him as “a good kid” who “brought so much joy to our lives and to those around him.”
“He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help others, and his smile could light up a room,” the fundraiser described. “Our family is struggling to cope with this loss, and we want to honor his memory in the best way we can.”
The goal was to raise $4,000, but it had only reached $50 from four donors by Wednesday morning.
