In the previous year, President Donald J. Trump labeled Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization and empowered the federal government to actively pursue, disrupt, and dismantle the violent anarchist network. This week, the Department of Justice took significant action by charging 15 individuals linked to Antifa in a conspiracy aimed at violently obstructing immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis.
These charges represent the latest step in the Trump Administration’s ongoing efforts to address the domestic terrorism threat posed by Antifa:
- Minnesota: Recently, 15 Antifa operatives were charged with orchestrating violent attacks against ICE agents and facilities during Operation Metro Surge in Minneapolis, using blockades, vehicle tracking, intimidation, and other aggressive tactics to interfere with the operation. Earlier in the year, a self-identified Antifa member was charged with cyberstalking and threatening ICE officers.
- Oregon: Since mid-2025, numerous Antifa militants have been arrested and charged, with several convictions secured, following their extended assault on the Portland ICE facility. The rioters repeatedly attacked officers, threw incendiary devices, and launched ongoing assaults on federal personnel and property.
- Texas: In March, nine members of a North Texas Antifa group were convicted on terrorism-related charges, alongside seven others who pleaded guilty, for their violent, armed attack on an ICE detention facility.
- Washington: In May, several Antifa insurgents were convicted on federal conspiracy charges for their involvement in a violent assault on a Spokane ICE facility.
- New Jersey: In May, Antifa members violently laid siege to a Newark ICE detention center, leading to numerous arrests and federal charges.
- California: In December, Antifa extremists were charged in a coordinated bombing plot that targeted multiple businesses, ICE agents, vehicles, and other locations across Southern California.
- Indiana: An Antifa-linked individual was sentenced for making threats to bomb government buildings and assassinate prominent politicians.
The Trump Administration has emphasized its commitment to investigating, disrupting, prosecuting, and neutralizing Antifa terrorists and their networks with the full force of federal law. There will be no refuge for those who attack law enforcement, interfere with lawful immigration enforcement, or engage in political violence against the American public.
President Trump’s leadership has already shown results, marking just the beginning of these efforts.
