Choong-sik and Min-seok successfully rescue Si-nae and Yeon-ju through a coordinated effort with Ma Do-jun during a climactic showdown at Yeonan Pier against Kim Yong-gang and his men. Initially, however, they fall into a trap as Yong-gang captures the group, locking Choong-sik and Min-seok in a freezer.
Ultimately, the two husbands manage to escape by working together. Do-jun fights back when Hye-ran is threatened, leading Hye-ran to free Si-nae and Jo A-ra. The group then overpowers Yong-gang and his crew in a united fight, resulting in Yong-gang’s defeat and arrest.
The film features a surprise cameo by Girls’ Generation’s Lim YoonA, who portrays the wife of antagonist Kim Yong-gang. She appears at the airport, inquiring about her husband’s activities. This scene concludes the movie, hinting at a potential sequel, although Netflix has not yet confirmed any plans.

Husbands in Action opens with Hwang Choong-sik, a dedicated narcotics detective, successfully capturing Ma Do-jun during a drug bust. Choong-sik, the ex-husband of Si-nae and father to their daughter Yeon-ju, often finds himself at odds with Si-nae’s current husband, Lee Min-seok, a gentle veterinarian. Their rivalry stems from their differing roles in Yeon-ju’s life.
Following the arrest, Hye-ran, Ma Do-jun’s wife and the strategic force behind parts of the operation, kidnaps Si-nae and Yeon-ju. She demands Choong-sik’s assistance in freeing her husband and later seeks access to NABI, a valuable AI program she developed.
The plot thickens with the involvement of Kim Yong-gang, a former gangster recently released from prison, who aims to reclaim lost territory. Yong-gang targets those connected to the group, eventually kidnapping several people, including Si-nae, Yeon-ju, Hye-ran, and Jo A-ra. He directs Choong-sik, Min-seok, and Do-jun to Yeonan Pier to save their loved ones.
At the pier, Choong-sik and Min-seok walk into Yong-gang’s trap. He gains control, locking them in a freezer and seizing the NABI device, which he destroys, asserting that technology should not dominate human lives.
While trapped, Choong-sik and Min-seok, driven by their resolve to protect their family, manage to escape. At the same time, Do-jun resists when Hye-ran is threatened, prompting her to release Si-nae and A-ra. Together, they confront Yong-gang and his associates, ultimately defeating and arresting him. Throughout these events, Yeon-ju is nowhere to be seen.
Following the main conflict, Do-jun and Hye-ran attempt to escape by speedboat, unaware that Yeon-ju is hiding aboard. Choong-sik and Min-seok pursue them using a paraglider to reach the boat, ultimately rescuing Yeon-ju and preventing the escape of Do-jun and Hye-ran.
The story then transitions to a school event involving Yeon-ju, where Choong-sik and Min-seok, who previously competed awkwardly, now demonstrate mutual respect for their roles within the family. Si-nae reveals she is pregnant.
In a family photo moment, Choong-sik steps back to allow Si-nae, Min-seok, and Yeon-ju their space as a family unit. He moves forward with Jo A-ra, who has become significant to him.
The end-credits scene shows one of Yong-gang’s associates at the airport awaiting Mrs. Kim Yong-gang’s arrival in Incheon, suggesting possible future developments.
