This month, renowned perceptual artist James Turrell achieved a significant milestone with the unveiling of his 100th Skyscape. This site-specific architectural work features a straightforward design: a domed structure with an oculus oriented towards the sky.

The latest addition to this celebrated series, titled “As Seen Below,” is now a permanent exhibit at ARoS in Aarhus, Denmark. The installation, spanning over 50 feet in height and 130 feet in width, typically reveals an unobstructed view of the sky. However, the oculus can be sealed to create various “color shifts,” which fill the space with vibrant hues.

For more details on the project, previously covered by Colossal, and to book your visit, please see the museum’s website.
