Eric Trump expressed his pride in stating, “I am deeply honored that at 5:01 a.m., Trump Force One will be the first plane to land at the newly renamed Palm Beach International Airport – now and forever President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT).” He emphasized that his father, Donald Trump, has done more for Florida and the nation than anyone else, making him deserving of such recognition.
As a frequent traveler from the Palm Beach airport, Eric, 42, noted his excitement at seeing the initials ‘DJT’ on his boarding pass, as he resides mainly in the area. While celebrating his father’s achievement, he also acknowledged his own contribution, stating, “I’m happy to have played a big role in making this happen.”
Eric extended his gratitude to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, and Member of the Florida House of Representatives Meg Weinberger for their roles in the renaming.
Despite the celebratory tone, critics were quick to dismiss the achievement. One user on X labeled it a “cry for attention,” while another accused Eric of “taking credit for nonsense” akin to his father. A third critic suggested Eric’s accomplishments were more a result of his family connections than personal merit.
Eric, who serves as the Executive Vice President of The Trump Organization, was also ridiculed by some for his career, which they characterized ambiguously as that of an “American businessman.”
Eric’s position within the family hierarchy was also a point of contention for some critics. One remarked, “The stupid kid had to kiss daddy’s a– for attention and approval all his life.” Observers have often pointed out how Eric is treated differently compared to his brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Barron Trump.
In one instance, Donald Trump himself admitted, “I own it, but I don’t even like to talk to my son.” He even forgot to mention Eric and his wife, Lara Trump, during a South Carolina primary victory speech, despite their presence.
YouTuber ConnerEatsPants expressed doubt about Eric’s perceived achievement, stating, “kinda sad he won’t ever read or see or care about this at all. We know you’ve thought about it, Eric. You should.”
Soon after his initial post, Eric shared a video from inside the cockpit. In the video, an announcement was made by air traffic control declaring, “Attention all aircraft, effective immediately, Palm Beach International Airport is officially Donald J. Trump International Airport.”
However, even among MAGA supporters, there is fatigue with the Trump family’s actions. One person commented, “God forbid your c–t a– father does something for Americans rather than himself. Not what the f–k I voted for c–t.”
