Although Prince Harry’s relationship with his brother William is strained, he expressed admiration for Kate Middleton in his 2023 memoir, Spare.
In the book, Harry shared, “I liked my new sister-in-law. I felt she was more sister than in-law, the sister I’ve never had and always wanted, and I was pleased that she’d forever be standing by Willy’s side.”
He further described Middleton as an ideal partner for William, noting, “She was a good match for my older brother. They made each other visibly happy, and therefore I was happy too.” Harry reflected on the couple’s relationship, which began during their time as students at Scotland’s St. Andrews University in the early 2000s.
The Duke of Sussex also praised the Princess of Wales, calling her “carefree, sweet, and kind,” and mentioned that he connected with her “heavily disguised silly side.”
However, Harry also noted a cooler interaction between Middleton and Meghan Markle, recounting an awkward moment when Markle asked to borrow Middleton’s lip gloss, which reportedly left the princess “taken aback.”
Additionally, Harry shed light on the widely publicized bridesmaid dress dispute that occurred before his 2018 royal wedding.
