Jude Bellingham, the standout player from Real Madrid, once again stole the show by scoring twice to lead England to a 2-1 victory over Norway in the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals. The match took place at Miami Stadium on Saturday, July 11.

The Three Lions initially controlled possession in the first half, but Andreas Schjelderup put Norway ahead in the 36th minute. Bellingham restored parity 11 minutes later, finding the bottom corner with precision.

After the break, Norway increased their pressure. Torbjorn Heggem had a goal disallowed due to a foul in the lead-up, and Kristoffer Ajer’s header hit the crossbar. Despite these setbacks, they couldn’t find the net.

England capitalized on a mistake by goalkeeper Orjan Nyland in the 93rd minute, with Bellingham scoring again to secure England’s place in the semi-finals.

England Player Ratings: Performance Analysis Against Norway in FIFA World Cup Q/F

Jordan Pickford – 6/10

Pickford could have done more to prevent Schjelderup’s goal. He made three saves and nine recoveries but seemed unsteady with his handling and distribution.

Ezri Konsa – 7/10

Playing as a makeshift right-back, Konsa excelled defensively, winning all five of his duels and making two crucial interceptions and recoveries.

John Stones – 6.5/10

Stones appeared uncertain in the first half but improved as the game went on. He made seven clearances, two recoveries, and distributed the ball effectively with accurate long balls.

Marc Guehi – 7.5/10

Guehi successfully limited the impact of his Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland. He also made a significant block to stop Antonio Nusa from scoring in extra time.

Nico O’Reilly – 6/10

The 21-year-old left-back showed defensive skill against Alexander Sorloth and Oscar Bobb but struggled offensively, creating no chances in the match.

Declan Rice – 4/10

Rice was below par due to injury and illness. His set-piece deliveries were lacking, leading to his substitution for Eberechi Eze at half-time.

Elliot Anderson – 8/10

Anderson’s key run in the first half set up Bellingham’s equalizer. He was dominant in midfield, making nine recoveries and two tackles.

Jude Bellingham – 9/10

Bellingham was England’s standout performer against Norway. The 23-year-old took the most shots in the match (five), scoring twice. He also completed three dribbles and won eight midfield duels.

Anthony Gordon – 7.5/10

Gordon was impressive on the left wing, assisting Bellingham’s first goal. He also completed the most dribbles in the game (four) and was a constant threat to Norway.

Noni Madueke – 4/10

Madueke struggled to influence the game in the first half and was replaced by Bukayo Saka at half-time.

Harry Kane – 6/10

Kane had an uncharacteristically quiet game. He made an error leading to Schjelderup’s goal and managed two shots on target from three attempts.

Substitutes

Eberechi Eze (46′) – 6.5/10

Coming on for Rice at half-time, Eze created two chances for England.

Bukayo Saka (46′) – 7.5/10

Saka made an impact after replacing Madueke, creating two chances and landing both his shots on target.

Reece James (71′) – 6/10

James returned from injury and had a solid outing both in midfield and at right-back.

Djed Spence (86′) – 7/10

Spence impressed from the bench and was unfortunate to have his penalty overturned in extra time.

Morgan Rogers (89′) – 6.5/10

Rogers’ long-range effort led to Nyland’s error, allowing Bellingham to secure England’s 2-1 victory.

Dan Burn (111′) – N/A
