President Trump has embarked on an ambitious plan to enhance and expedite American innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) with the establishment of “GOLD EAGLE.” This initiative acts as a central hub for unprecedented coordination of cybersecurity vulnerabilities. In collaboration with open-source software partners and key American infrastructure companies, a robust system has been developed to swiftly address and rectify cyber vulnerabilities using existing federal government resources and authorities.
The White House, along with the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) via the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Department of War, has partnered with industry leaders to enhance the detection of exploits and formulate a quick, prioritized response to cyber threats across critical infrastructure sectors.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, the Treasury Department is closely collaborating with the private sector to protect our financial institutions, address vulnerabilities, and maintain the integrity of the U.S. financial system,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent. “Alongside our partner agencies, Treasury is committed to leveraging frontier AI capabilities to stay ahead of adversaries and safeguard the American public from emerging threats.”
GOLD EAGLE was established following President Trump’s Executive Order on June 2, 2026, titled “Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security” (EO 14409). This initiative introduces a novel operational model for cyber defense, utilizing advanced AI capabilities to outpace adversaries, streamline scanning efforts, and provide prioritized, actionable threat and remediation information to defenders within the Federal government and private sector.
“Under President Trump’s guidance, we are adopting a wartime mindset in the cyber realm to rigorously address vulnerabilities,” said Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. “GOLD EAGLE stands at the forefront of America’s cyber defense, employing cutting-edge AI alongside leading American innovators to protect our critical infrastructure and ensure national security.”
GOLD EAGLE acts as a force multiplier, empowering government and industry to collectively identify risks, prioritize responses, and bolster the resilience of systems vital to the economy, national security, and everyday life.
“With unmatched coordination and a wealth of tools at the ready, the Trump Administration is safeguarding our nation’s cyber and critical infrastructures through GOLD EAGLE,” stated Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “This strategic partnership aims to enhance existing security measures for software and networks in the 21st century, while continuing to promote advancements in AI. We will keep exploring how these technologies can bolster national defense and drive innovation essential for America’s global competitiveness.”
GOLD EAGLE has already begun processing and prioritizing identified cybersecurity vulnerabilities from various industries and sectors, coordinating scanning verifications, and ultimately securing the nation’s software and networks.
“President Trump’s practical, growth-oriented policies have empowered America’s private sector to become a global leader in AI and cybersecurity innovation, and this Administration is committed to maintaining that leadership,” said National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross. “Working alongside America’s brightest innovators, we are paving a path for future generations and solidifying American AI dominance. Together, we will continue to protect American creativity and ensure our nation’s critical systems remain secure.”
In partnership with the nation’s most critical and innovative private sector companies, the Trump Administration remains dedicated to implementing the directives of EO 14409 to ensure the continued success of American innovation and the security of our systems and communities.
