Taylor Momsen is mourning the passing of her former security guard, Mason Haynes, who was also known for his work with the Kardashians.
Haynes passed away at the age of 52 on July 4, according to a GoFundMe page created to support his family and cover funeral expenses.
“I’ve been struggling for days and still don’t know how to process this. Mason Haynes was my family, my protector, my confidant, and one of my closest friends,” Momsen, 32, shared alongside a series of nostalgic photos of her and Haynes on Instagram on Wednesday, July 15.
The Gossip Girl alum continued, “When someone knows every dark secret about you and never judges, spending 24 hours a day with you, seven days a week, you form a bond that is hard to explain. He was a powerful giant with the softest heart of anyone I knew. Smart, artistic, and most importantly, he always put others’ needs first. His advocacy against bullying ran deep within him.”
“I will miss him in a way I can’t explain. My love to his family, who meant more than the world to him. If you can, please donate to the GoFundMe in my story to support this immense loss so many people I know are feeling,” Momsen added.
She concluded, “I love you, Mason. I can’t believe I’ll never hear your voice again. You were truly one of a kind. Hold your loved ones close and don’t take a minute for granted. Love to you all, xxt.”

Haynes died in a “tragic road traffic accident” just two days before what would have been his 53rd birthday, as noted by the GoFundMe page established in his memory.
The page also mentions that he leaves behind his devoted wife Fay, his daughter Brooke, his son Noah, and a loving family, along with numerous friends spread across the globe.
The fundraiser describes Haynes as a man who made people feel welcomed from the first meeting, someone who would cross countries to assist a friend, never let loved ones down, and recognized the deeper qualities in people that others often missed.
He is remembered as a protector, mentor, prankster, and a giant in every sense, with an even bigger heart, the page notes.
In addition to working with Momsen, Haynes collaborated with Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Lewis Hamilton, and others over his career. He was part of Kardashian’s security team when she was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris apartment in October 2016.
