As reported by the website, the upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro will feature a 5200mAh battery. The flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to boast a 5700mAh or possibly even a 5800mAh battery.

The S27 Pro is a completely new model, leaving limited information available about it. In contrast, the S27 Ultra is set to succeed the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which maintained a 5000mAh battery for six consecutive years.

This change indicates a potential 14 to 16% increase in battery capacity, which could be a significant enhancement.

Samsung’s Battery History

For several years, there has been anticipation for Samsung to enhance battery capacities in its Galaxy S series, especially as competitors like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Honor have advanced beyond Samsung’s offerings.

Samsung has been understandably cautious about advancing its battery technology due to its complex history with devices that experienced battery issues, an occurrence that recently resurfaced.

The current rumor suggests that Samsung is finally embracing Silicon Carbon (Si-C) technology, which allows for denser batteries, enabling larger capacities without increasing the phone’s thickness.
