Cindy Standing for the J6 Hostages outside the DC Gulag.

By Daniel Goodwyn, Guest Contributor

Cindy Young embodies the essence of resilience. A grandmother, healer, and spiritual guide, she endured a harrowing loss at just 18 months old when a plane crash claimed her mother. This tragic event sowed the seeds of fortitude within her, which have since flourished into a lifetime dedicated to service and spiritual leadership.

However, at 67 years old, Cindy now confronts a different kind of devastation—one not dictated by fate, but rather crafted by a political establishment intent on quashing dissent.

Like many, Cindy participated in the January 6th protest with peaceful intentions, exercising her constitutional right to petition her government. Yet, for this act of civic engagement, she has faced vilification, prosecution, and targeting. The repercussions have been dire: she lost her small business, endured years of legal battles, and has become yet another name among the many Americans the government seeks to suppress for their beliefs.

Yet, despite these challenges, Cindy—lovingly referred to as “Yellow Butterfly” in her community—remains steadfast in her belief in hope and the transformative power of truth. Now, she finds herself in need of our assistance.

Please consider donating today to Cindy Young’s GiveSendGo fundraiser.

“I am a giving woman who has helped those who have been down in life to find their power, believe in themselves, and to move forward through their own personal difficulties,” she states on her fundraiser page. “It is now, in the most difficult time of my life, that I am asking for your support.”

Her fundraising efforts transcend personal gain; Cindy has consistently championed other J6ers even while grappling with her own struggles. She has provided strength to those incarcerated, uplifted spirits, and shared the grace and wisdom that have defined her life.

Additionally, she has launched a podcast—J6 from the Heart—aimed at disseminating truth, providing clarity, and continuing her mission of healing and awareness.

The tragedy of her situation cannot be overstated: a woman who has devoted her life to uplifting others now teeters on the brink of losing everything—her home, her business, and her financial stability—not due to any violent crime, but simply for standing firm in her beliefs.

It’s crucial to clarify that this is not a legal defense fundraiser. Cindy has already faced trial, endured sentencing, and has since been pardoned; however, the aftermath of these events continues to haunt her. This initiative is focused on rebuilding a life that was shattered, asserting her dignity, and fostering solidarity.

Kirstyn Niemela, another J6er and one of Cindy’s closest allies, expressed this sentiment:
“Cindy doesn’t want to ask for help. She’s lost her small business and has battled depression, just as many of us have. She supported me when I was in need—now it’s time for us to support her. She may not voice it herself, but I will.”

And I echo that call: Now is the time for action.

Please consider contributing whatever you can to help Cindy regain her footing. Her modest humility should not prevent her from receiving the support, love, and hope she has so often extended to others.

This situation transcends Cindy’s individual plight.

It raises a fundamental question: Will we, as a society, stand with those marginalized for voicing their truths? Do we turn away, or do we walk alongside them?
