Sources have indicated that Cher, 80, is deeply anxious about the future once he is released.
“Chaz is understandably distressed about Elijah’s current situation, but his main concern is protecting Cher,” a source explained. “The ongoing issues with Elijah are causing Cher significant distress. Despite her efforts to assist him, Elijah continually rejects her help and perceives her as an adversary.
“There is uncertainty regarding Elijah’s mental state upon his eventual release from the facility, and it’s evident that he will require a substantial adjustment period to regain clarity. Consequently, there is considerable apprehension about what comes next.”
Elijah, son of the late rocker Gregg Allman, faced charges of simple assault, criminal trespassing, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct following an incident at St. Paul’s School in Concord on February 27. Although he was initially released on personal recognizance, he was arrested again two days later for allegedly breaking into a stranger’s home in Windham, N.H.
His trial was scheduled for June 16, but a judge has postponed any hearings until he is released from New Hampshire State Hospital.
