This seamless integration is aided by Bille Brahe’s distinctive elements, including bold shoulders, tweed accents, intricate and whimsical embroidery, and polka dots, all tied together with a prominent bow.
The designer described her latest collection as “very Princess Diana inspired.” However, the expansive shoulders of the spring line evoke memories of the late royal’s Paul Costelloe and David and Elizabeth Emanuel period, rather than the so-called revenge era Bille Brahe referenced. To balance these pronounced upper silhouettes, the collection features slim-cut capri pants, a popular choice among Scandi girls this summer. Continuing her commitment to sustainability, Bille Brahe uses deadstock fabrics from luxury European manufacturers, though this season she crafted her own denim instead of repurposing vintage materials. She embraced embellishments enthusiastically, aiming for eye-catching shine. “I want when the girls come out that you almost need sunglasses because it’s going to be shiny like a big glitter ball,” she remarked. The collection, named the Caro Club, turned the runway into a lively celebration, with models like Klara Kristen and Erin Wasson leading the charge. Joining them were Sara Blomqvist and Eniko, friends from Bille Brahe’s modeling days, and the designer’s school friend, Barbara Potts. A collaboration with Korean brand Heavenly Jelly produced must-have shoes perfect for an all-night dance.
