In an interview with SkyNews’ James Matthews on Friday, El-Sayed addressed Trump’s comments, where the president claimed to be a gift to the Republican Party. El-Sayed, a Democrat, countered by stating he considered himself a gift to the state of Michigan before making a pointed retort.
Matthews asked El-Sayed, “And [Trump] says, if you’d pardon the language, that you’re full of shit. What do you say to that?”
El-Sayed responded, “At least I don’t let mine go in the middle of the Oval Office.”
El-Sayed’s comment appeared to reference jokes about the president defecating on himself.
In addition to his explicit insult of El-Sayed, Trump also attempted to inaccurately label the Democrat as a “communist.”
Trump remarked, “They want to go right down to the bottom of the barrel. That’s communism. They want it to be a communist country. We’re not letting them have it as a communist country. Not even for a minute.”
