“Megan and Cupcake Ready for Preschool,” a new hybrid series combining live action and animation, will launch on Disney Jr. and Disney+ later this Fall. This series is an extension of Disney Jr.’s well-loved “Ready for Preschool” shorts.
Megan Baptist, known for her work as a puppeteer on “Sesame Street” and as a ventriloquist and children’s book author, stars in the series with her sidekick, Cupcake, to provide educational content for preschool viewers.
The series takes place in the WOW Workshop, which serves as both an invention lab and a playhouse. Megan and Cupcake engage with a variety of gadgets and imaginative tools, guiding children at home through interactive, hands-on adventures that aim to build confidence, curiosity, and readiness for preschool.
Starting today, a collection of ten one-minute live-action shorts titled “Megan and Cupcake” will be available on Disney Jr. YouTube. These shorts will introduce audiences to the WOW Workshop before they make their debut on Disney Jr. and Disney+ this Fall.
The complete series of longer-form shorts, themed around specific learning and play concepts, will also premiere this Fall on Disney Jr. and Disney+. These episodes will feature live-action segments with Megan and Cupcake, interwoven with existing “Ready for Preschool” shorts.
“Megan and Cupcake Ready for Preschool” joins Disney Jr.’s extensive lineup of educational programming on Disney+. It focuses on age-appropriate skill development and early learning concepts for preschoolers, alongside popular shows like “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and “Gracie’s Corner,” the latter of which became a global sensation following its debut earlier this summer as part of a global acquisition deal.
