Roman Reigns might soon step into the ring against a popular WWE star.
Recently, The Tribal Chief has been maintaining a more active schedule as a titleholder. He won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42 by defeating CM Punk in a tough match. Since then, he has defended his title three times: twice against Jacob Fatu and once against Seth Rollins.
Thanks for the submission!
A recent report from WrestleVotes on Fightful Select suggests that Roman Reigns could be taking on LA Knight next. The backstage buzz points to a potential match between the two at the Money in the Bank PLE, scheduled for October 10th. In a recent RAW episode, Reigns and LA Knight faced off, with Knight insisting on a clean singles match.
A WWE veteran criticizes Roman Reigns’ character
WWE veteran Eric Bischoff has expressed dissatisfaction with Roman Reigns’ character, describing it as outdated.
On his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff acknowledged his respect for The Tribal Chief but argued that the character needs development.
“I’m bored with him. I don’t see anything new from him. I don’t see a character evolving…We’re not seeing any evolution. We’re seeing maintenance, and it’s good. It’s definitely working from a financial perspective, so there’s nothing wrong with it. There’s just nothing compelling about it,” he said.
Bischoff further compared Reigns’ character to WWE legend Ric Flair, noting that Flair’s character also remained unchanged.
“Ric’s character never changed. Didn’t have to. And I think that’s where Roman is. But that doesn’t mean that he’s number one, not valuable, and number two, it doesn’t mean that I can’t be bored with it. Those two things are not mutually exclusive,” he added.
As Roman Reigns continues to defend his title, it remains to be seen if he will set another record as a titleholder in the coming months. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see if he will face LA Knight at Money in the Bank.
