Following Team India’s 1-0 Test series win over Sri Lanka, players KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal engaged in light-hearted banter on social media. The exchange began when Padikkal responded humorously to an Instagram post by Rahul.
On Thursday, September 10, the wicketkeeper-batter shared a series of pictures with the caption:
“A little bit of nothing.”
Padikkal’s witty comment questioned if Rahul was referring to his brain. He wrote:
“You mean inside that brain of yours? 🥴@klrahul.”
Padikkal was a standout performer for India during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Filling in at No. 3 for the absent Sai Sudharsan, the 26-year-old excelled and was named Player of the Series after scoring 328 runs in three innings.
His scores were 167, 44, and 117. In contrast, Rahul scored 82 runs off 175 balls in the first innings of the opening Test but was dismissed for 35 and 18 in the subsequent innings.
Delhi Capitals Share Humorous Reaction to KL Rahul’s Coffee Video
Rahul’s post also featured a short clip of him sipping coffee. The Delhi Capitals (DC) added a humorous touch, advising him not to throw coffee on anyone.
This was in response to circulating rumors on social media suggesting Rahul had a falling out with the DC management during IPL 2026, reportedly leading to an incident where he allegedly threw coffee at a coach. The DC franchise commented:
“Kisi pe phenka mat.”
DC co-owner Parth Jindal recently addressed KL Rahul trade rumors via social media, affirming that the team had no intentions to trade the opener before the upcoming auction. Rahul was the leading run-scorer for Delhi in the 2026 edition, accumulating 593 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 174.41.
