Islamabad:

The Information Minister of Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar, reassured the public on Saturday that the man who fell from a container during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad is “completely fine.”

Tarar informed the media that the man only suffered minor injuries in the incident, as reported by Dawn.

A viral video from the protest at Islamabad’s D-Chowk showed men dressed as security personnel pushing the man off a stack of containers.

The PTI supporters were protesting for the release of their leader and party chief, Imran Khan.

The demonstrations turned violent on November 26, with PTI supporters facing tear gas shelling by security forces.

According to Dawn, a photographer captured an image of a man hanging off the container’s edge while men in uniform looked on.

The incident’s video went viral, leading to various claims on social media, including some alleging the man’s death.

Dismissing these claims, Minister Tarar stated, “Propaganda was spread that a person offering prayers was killed by being pushed down. He is a resident of Mandi Bahauddin and is completely fine. His video has emerged; he sustained an arm injury and has bandages.”

Tarar also mentioned that the man was recording a TikTok video as part of a challenge with a friend and was not praying at the time, according to Dawn.

Earlier, Awami National Party (ANP) President Aimal Wali Khan called for a ban on political parties inciting violence, including PTI, reported Dawn.

During a press conference with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the ANP central secretariat in Wali Bagh, Khan criticized PTI for its undemocratic and nonpolitical behavior since its establishment, encouraging violent actions.

He referred to PTI as “waste that should be disposed of” and criticized the state for imposing PTI on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the past 12 years, as reported by Dawn.
