Family Guy Returns to Adult Swim in 2025
The beloved animated series “Family Guy” is set to make a triumphant return to Adult Swim in 2025. The show, created by Seth MacFarlane, will kick off its comeback with a three-day marathon starting on January 1st. Fans can tune in to back-to-back episodes airing from 7 p.m. ET/PT to 5 a.m., followed by weeknight episodes airing from 10:00 – 11:30pm ET/PT.
Originally premiering on Fox in 1999, “Family Guy” was canceled after just three seasons due to low ratings. However, reruns on Adult Swim and strong DVD sales prompted Fox to revive the show in 2005. Now in its 23rd season, the show recently premiered holiday specials on Hulu and is set to continue on Fox in 2025.
After leaving Adult Swim in 2021 when its license expired, “Family Guy” found a new cable home on FXX for its off-network run. The show’s return to Adult Swim in 2025 comes with a non-exclusive agreement, allowing reruns to air on other platforms as well.
“Family Guy” follows the misadventures of the Griffin family, including the bumbling Peter, his wife Lois, and their three kids Meg, Chris, and Stewie. Not to forget their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian. The show’s quirky humor and satirical take on pop culture have made it a fan favorite over the years.
President of Adult Swim, Michael Ouweleen, expressed excitement about the show’s return, stating, “Adult Swim is a huge part of Family Guy’s early history, and we’re excited for the series to return to our lineup in 2025. Having ‘Family Guy’ back on our air is a great complement to the amazing slate of animated originals we also have planned for next year.”
Fans of “Family Guy” can look forward to more hilarious antics from the Griffin family when the show returns to Adult Swim in 2025. Stay tuned for more animated fun and laughter on late-night television.
