Al Pacino Reflects on His Life in New Memoir
Al Pacino’s new memoir chronicles his incredible journey from humble beginnings to becoming an Oscar-winning icon. The book is filled with enough drama to rival several Hollywood screenplays, including family tragedies, epic romances, and a fortune that was both made and lost.
At 85 years old, Pacino felt it was time to put his life story on paper. “I’m in my 85th year. When you get there and you start experiencing age, you understand why they do put things down,” he shared about his decision to write the memoir.
The notoriously private actor, best known for his role in “Scarface,” chose to title the book after the childhood nickname given to him by his mother, Rose. The nickname was inspired by the Al Jolson song of the same name. Pacino wanted to leave a lasting record for his loved ones, including his four children: Julie, 35 (from his relationship with acting coach Jan Tarrant), twins Anton and Olivia, 23 (from his relationship with actress Beverly D’Angelo), and Roman, who is just 16 months old (from his relationship with movie producer Alfallah).
Through his memoir, Pacino hopes to provide insight into his life and career for his family and fans alike. The book promises to offer a rare glimpse into the personal and professional life of one of Hollywood’s most revered actors.
