These Christmas-themed boxes are packed with essential items like Christmas pudding, candy canes, dried fruit, and chocolate. Individuals or families can pick up an empty box along with a list of suggested items from the LJ Hooker offices. Alternatively, they can choose to wrap their own box and fill it with food items.
To make it more affordable for everyone to contribute, Mrs. Townsend suggests that groups like coworkers pool their resources together. This way, each person can donate just a few items, making it easier to fill the boxes.
The focus of this year’s initiative is to support the Ćtepoti-Dunedin WhÄnau Refuge. The gift boxes will be delivered to the refuge on December 14 and distributed to local families in need. Any additional boxes will be given to other social services in the area.
Mrs. Townsend expresses her gratitude to her coworkers and the community for their support. She mentions how this initiative has not only brought them closer together but has also been a positive team-building experience for everyone involved.
If you would like to contribute, you can drop off filled boxes at either of the LJ Hooker offices located at 516 George St or 63 Musselburgh Rise.
