Indian cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy recently took to social media to address India’s defeat in the second 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. Despite the setback, Nitish expressed the team’s determination to bounce back and perform better in the upcoming matches of the series.

In the first Test, India secured a dominant 295-run victory. However, the second match presented a different challenge as India struggled with the bat, being dismissed for just 180 in their first innings. Nitish emerged as the top scorer with 42 runs. Australia, led by Travis Head’s exceptional 140, replied with 337, establishing a crucial 157-run lead.

The Indian batting lineup faltered once again in their second innings, collapsing for 175, with Nitish once more top-scoring at 42 runs. Australia comfortably chased down the target of 19 runs, winning by 10 wickets and concluding the game in just three days.

Following the defeat, Nitish Kumar Reddy shared a message on Instagram, stating, “Not the outcome we had hoped for at the Adelaide Oval. Back to the drawing board now with a focus to come back with renewed zeal. Stronger together.”

The third game of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled to commence on Saturday, December 14, in Brisbane.

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra lauded Nitish Kumar Reddy’s performance in the first two Tests against Australia, labeling him as India’s “breakout star” in the series. Despite India’s loss in the second Test, Nitish’s batting skills impressed many. Chopra praised the young talent on his YouTube channel, highlighting Nitish’s impressive stats and performance.

Aakash Chopra mentioned, “He has been outstanding. He is the breakout star of this Indian cricket team on this tour of Australia. He has exceeded our expectations. I am totally impressed. Nitish Kumar Reddy as a batter looks ready. Nitish Kumar Reddy as a bowler is still a work in progress.”

Nitish Kumar Reddy, aged 21, has amassed 163 runs in two Tests at an average of 54.33 and has also taken two wickets in the series.

Overall, despite the defeat in the second Test, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s promising performance has garnered praise and attention, showcasing his potential as a rising star in Indian cricket. Fans eagerly anticipate his contributions in the upcoming matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
